NEW! DiamondHead D-45 Pop up Sights

Oh happy day! Today I get to share with you the D-45 sights from Diamondhead. The reason I am excited about the D-45s over other brand’s 45 degree sights is because the D-45s store like traditional sights on your picatinny rail. Other 45 degree offset sighting solutions can protrude from your rifle and potentially snag while not in use.

The other joy to the design is that they maintain true bore alignment of your rifle.  They emulate a typical 90 degree bore alignment at 45 degrees.

  • Patented Diamond-Shaped AperturesTM and upper housing for faster target acquisition & centering
  • The Rear Sight’s Diamond-shaped upper housing enables fast CQC with apertures flat
  • Dual same plane short & long range apertures (at exact same height of factory A2 sights)
  • Stows under magnified optic
  • Deploys and stows with small or large aperture active
  • Accurate 0.5MOA windage adjustment
  • Proprietary Diamond-Shaped housing
  • Secure and accurate elevation adjustment
  • Accepts all standard A2 front sight posts

Here they are, packed from the factory.

The front sight utilizes a standard a2 sight post so you can change your post to something different such as the KNS manufactured posts.

Manufacturer’s Description,

During high speed, high stress shooting, the eye needs reference points. The Diamondhead™ Integrated Sighting System provides them. The conventional rear sight’s round aperture and round (HK style) front sight housing, can make shooting at longer distances difficult and inaccurate. Remember, rear sights are blurry during aiming. The simple fact is that it is easier for the eye to find the exact center of a blurry diamond than the exact center of a blurry circle. It is even easier and quicker for the eye to find the exact center of a Diamondhead™ rear sight’s aperture with the added posts at the corner of the diamond. These proprietary reference posts are unique to the Diamondhead™ sight and are not found on any other iron sight. The re-styled upper housing of the rear sight makes rapid aiming even easier and for CQC aiming, target acquisition can be made with the apertures flat and by merely aligning the rear upper housing with the front sight post.

The other main reason the Diamondhead™ (Pat. & Pat. Pend.) diamond-shaped aperture is better than a conventional round aperture is because round apertures don’t give a truly ROUND picture of the front sight and target. The front sight tower of the rifle obscures the bottom portion of the conventional rear sight round aperture. This causes the the bottom part of the round aperture to be flattened – not round. The result is that it is harder for the eye to quickly make an accurate decision about how high up in this flattened circle is the exact center. Take a look at a set of conventional (round) sights to see. The 3:00 o’clock and 9:00 o’clock corners of the Diamondhead™ aperture, combined with the added accuracy of the proprietary Diamond-shaped upper housing eliminates this problem. Used in combination with the Diamondhead DIAMOND Flip-Up Front Combat Sight™ or the Diamondhead “Auto-Ranger” Flip-Up Front Combat Sight™, there will always be a clear reference for considerably more accurate (and faster) target acquisition.”
